Despite my Abstract Expressionist-leaning tendencies, I spent many hours in grad classes working with the figure.

Freeing myself from completely adhering to all rules allowed me to comfortably begin combining aspects of abstraction, surrealism, and portraiture
at will. Learning to master my mark-making and allowing the paint to render the image, instead of pushing for hyperrealism was the goal here.
